The 2003 Photo Finish: High Chaparral and Johar.

A photo finish in a horse race occurs when two (or more) competing horses cross the finishing line at near the same time. The naked eye of a spectator or even a discerning eye of an announcer may not be able to separate the horse that came first and the one that came in second. A strip photo, a series of rapidly triggered photographs, or a video taken at the finish line may be used for a more precise way of finding out the results.

Misremembered wins the Santa Anita Handicap

March 6 was one of those days in the history of horse racing that goes gave the sport one of the many picture perfect moments it has. On March 6, 2010, Misremembered took the Santa Anita Handicap, in Arcadia, Ca winning $750,000 by holding off a game Neko Bay by about half a length. Neko Bay returned $7.80 and $6, while Dakota Phone was another 2 1/4 lengths back in third and paid $10.40 to show.
